I have been to many places and cities in Vietnam but our experience in Hue is very unique. It is always nostalgic to look back and see the history of a beautiful country.
Hue is the capital of Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945 and now features major historical attractions. We were so fortunate that we had to explore the city and see all of them.
Day Tour In Hue Vietnam
Tomb of Mihn Mang
The Tomb of Minh Mang’s tomb is a standard architectural complex consisting of 40 constructions (palaces, temples, pavilions and more) built in 1843. Minh Mang is a King and the second ruler of Nguyen Dynasty that governed the central and southern Vietnam from 1820 to 1840.
There are many gates and terraces that you have to go through to see the Sung An Temple which is devoted to Emperor Minh Mang and his empress.
Imperial Citadel
The imperial city of Hue is the one amongst the foremost necessary historical and cultural monument in Vietnam. It is also a place of magnificence and renowned throughout the country as lying at the center of Vietnamese cultural tradition. This place was built by the first Nguyen rule, Emperor Gia Long on 1804. The Royal Citadel sustained serious damages during the war and many of its grandiose buildings were ruined. However, since being recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, significant restorations we done to repossess the overall beauty and you will really see it a a desirable place to explore.

Thien Mu Pagoda
After wandering within the Royal Citadel, we headed next to the Thien Mu Pagoda which is one of the oldest religious edifices in Hue and also one of the most remarkable. Thien Mu Pagoda which is also know as Pagoda of the Celestial Lady, was built in 1601 on the order of Hue’ governor, Nguyen Hoang.

We took a lot of photos and videos during our day tour. We supposed to take the Perfume River cruise and have a dinner on-board but the rain poured heavily and we were not able to do it. Anyway, there will always be a next time and we are glad to know that Hue City is really a must visit place in Vietnam.
Hue is very accessible as it has its own airport and also nearby to the city of Danang which is also a favorite tourist destination in Vietnam and close to the Ancient town of Hoi An.
